CPR STAT Course Descriptions
CPR STAT offers the following CPR and First Aid courses and follows the guidelines of the American Heart Association.
Community Courses
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card in CPR for their job. These courses are great for schools and students, new parents, grandparents, volunteers, and others who are interested in learning how to save a life. Family and Friends CPR This course teaches you how to perform CPR on adults, children, or infants and how to help an adult, child, or infant who is choking. Length: Approximately 1-1.5 hours Cost: $30 per person CPR in Schools CPR Stat can work with your school and teachers to facilitate CPR training at your school for your students. Students can learn the core skills of CPR (Hands Only CPR or CPR with breaths). Contact us at cprstatmichigan@gmail for more information. Hands Only CPR Events CPR Stat can work with you to plan and coordinate a Hands Only CPR event. Why host a Hands Only CPR event ? This can be used to raise funds for an AED, to promote Hands Only CPR, to increase CPR awareness, and to teach this lifesaving skill to a larger audience in a fun learning environment! Courses
Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. American Heart Association ecard is provided to those who successfully complete the written and skills test. Length: Approximately 4 hours Cost: $80 per person Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (for example, OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. For many Heartsaver courses, students may receive a course completion card that is valid for 2 years. Heartsaver CPR with AED This course will teach you to recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help a person until more advanced care arrives to take over. The course also covers adult choking and naloxone. Length: Approximately 1.5 hrs (Adult) to 4 hrs (Adult, Child & Infant) Cost: $70 pp (Adult, Child & Infant CPR AED) Heartsaver First Aid, CPR with AED This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements and covers first aid basics and CPR and AED skills for adults, children, and infants. American Heart Association certification card is provided to those who successfully complete the course. Length: Approximately 7-8 hours Cost: $125 per person |
Hands-on Skills Testing
Skills Testing for Heartcode BLS AHA Heartcode BLS uses a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities to teach students BLS knowledge and skills. After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. AHA Heartcode BLS is for healthcare professionals seeking an alternative method for completing an initial or renewal BLS Course. The online course can be taken at the following link AHA Heartcode BLS Online Proof of completion is required prior to scheduling a skills testing with an instructor. An AHA ecard is provided to those who successfully complete the online course and skills test. Contact us to schedule an appointment Length: 1 hour Cost: $45 per person Skills Testing for AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Online Depending on the course content, Heartsaver Blended Learning courses includes three parts. Part 1 is the online portion that can be completed wherever you have internet access. Parts 2 & 3 includes a hands-on skills practice and testing session conducted in-person with an American Heart Association instructor.
